Laurie Odum
Hi, I’m Laurie – a lifelong storyteller, grandma, and soon-to-be published children’s author. After 43 years of cutting hair and hearing thousands of stories from other people, I finally decided to share a few of my own. My first book, Prince and the Peanut Butter Egg, is based on a true childhood memory of our mischievous silver poodle named Prince—whose sweet tooth turned one Easter into an unforgettable family mystery. I grew up in a small rural town in upstate New York, surrounded by family, laughter, and the occasional chocolate heist courtesy of Prince. Today, I write gentle, funny stories inspired by real life: the messy, silly, heartwarming moments that stay with us long after childhood ends. Whether it’s a bedtime story that makes your kids giggle, or a memory that sparks a smile fifty years later, my hope is to share a little warmth, humor, and love—one story at a time.
